Notes : The Geology of the Grand Canyon (GLG-112) summer course will be offered again in July, 2013. The dates for the field trips have been set and the schedule for the summer has been released. It again, does NOT appear in the printed version of the CCC Summer schedule but it is correctly listed in the online schedule. The South Rim trip is scheduled for July 20-21st spending one night camping at the South Rim. The North Rim trip is the next weekend July 26-28th spending two nights camping at the North Rim.

There will be one day of manditory class (Thursday July 18th) to cover fundamentals and work out logistics. It will sheduled for the Thursday preceding the first field trip. I can only accept 16 students for the class and could possibly need a driver. Drivers can be paid a small stipend for their time and would have to be at least 25 years of age. I would need to get paperwork in early, so if you're intertested let me know early in May or June.

******The problem with registering on-line for GLG-112 has been fixed. THERE SHOULD BE NO PRE_REQUISITE FOR GLG-112!!!! .******

Kevin Mullins recently retired from the Astrogeology Team of the U.S. Geological Survey here in Flagstaff after over 27 years of cartographic, geologic and planetary research. During that time he had the privilege of working with some of the best and brightest scientist in those fields. He also had the luck to have played a small part in many of NASA's Earth and planetary missions including the Landsat programs, AVIRIS, ASTER, Viking, Voyager and MER. He led the Flagstaff Science Center Outreach program for the last three years he was there and has been teaching at CCC for 9 years. On occasion, he lectures at NAU for the Exploritas Program and loves it.
